Located in the northwest suburbs, just an hour from Chicago lies the ultimate destination for car enthusiasts. From boats and trains to Mustangs and Cobras, Volo Auto Museum and collector car dealership have it all. What was once a dairy farm has been transformed into a 60-acre showcase of automotive history.

In 1960, the owners, the Grams family, purchased the property, a 110-year-old non-operating dairy farm. They envisioned living in the farmhouse and turning one of the barns into a resale shop. During this time, the family’s two teenage sons, Greg and Bill, were interested in cars and would look for old cars that farmers would put out in the pasture.

After working at the family’s resale shop during the day, they would stay up late working on the cars they found. Their collection became no more than a dozen unrestored cars; however, it sparked attention from people. One day a man came in and made an offer on a vehicle he had his eye on and they decided to strike a deal.

The brothers realized they could make good money in the vintage car industry and decided to form Volo Auto Museum. Volo Auto Museum now has over 45 exhibits and five vehicle showrooms, each featuring hundreds of classic and collector cars.

This car museum's most unique part must be showrooms two and three. Volo Auto Museum has developed relationships with several production companies over the years and built a positive reputation in the car collecting industry.

Because of this, all the cars in these two showrooms are vehicles from famous TV shows and movies. Icons such as Bumblebee from Transformers, General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard, and the famous Cadillac from Terminator 3 lay on display.

Alongside TV and film cars, Volo’s other showrooms contain pre 50’s classic cars and cars of the rich and famous, such as Elvis Presley’s 1974 Cadillac. Many of the rooms also showcase the vintage vehicles they have for sale.

For those not very interested in collector vehicles, Volo has an immersive military exhibit, a Disney gallery, an antique arcade, horse-drawn carriages, boats from the 50s, motor homes, and even tractors. Any automotive you can name this museum has in its collection and you don’t want to miss it.
