The Mag Mile Association hosted its annual gala at the Hyatt Regency on May 19. Nearly 650 guests came dressed to impress for “Disco in the District.” The International Ballroom was a silver sensation with 70s party vibes. From the multi-colored dance floor to the disco ball table décor, the night took guests back to the disco of their youth.

The evening began with a reception where dozens of silent auction items were available for bids. Packages included free Chick-fil-A for a year; Chicago White Sox tickets, dinner and bowling at Pinstripes, a two-night stay at the Four Seasons, NASCAR tickets, a trip to NYC, an Ocean Voyager cruise of the Great Lakes, and so much more. Photo opps were offered by LaCour Images set against a sparkling backdrop filled with 70s party décor.
As guests filed into the ballroom, live music by Dr. Bombay filled the space and enticed people onto the dance floor. An exuberant performance, by “Village People” look-a-likes, had the crowd dancing in the aisles.
Justine Fedak, Mag Mile Association board president, and Kimberly Bares, president/CEO Mag Mile Association, welcomed guests and sang a cute duet of “Stayin’ Alive” by the Bee Gees. They thanked sponsors and donors for supporting this private, nonprofit membership organization which preserves, promotes and enhances the Magnificent Mile.
Seen on the scene were Rich Gamble, Alderman Ray Lopez, John Robak, Catie Keogh, Grant and Joanna DePorter, Sandy and Lee Golub, Daniel Thomas, Alicia Skruba, Taylor Stucker, Attorney General Kwame Raoul, Joe Aguilera, Bill and Peggy Martay, Alessandra Zurini, Bethany Florek, Kimberly Bares, Raymond Western, and others.
In addition to international marketing and planning popular consumer programming year-round, the Association also serves its members with district planning and beautification and incomparable networking opportunities. Members include real estate properties, retail shops, hotels, restaurants, entertainment establishments, institutional and residential properties and various professional services.
