Lincoln Park Zoo’s Fall Fest returns this weekend, ushering in a month-long celebration of autumn’s crisp air, vibrant colors and family-friendly fun. From now through Oct. 26, the zoo transforms into a harvest haven with free admission every Friday through Sunday and on Monday, Oct. 13. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., offering a blend of seasonal activities and animal encounters that make it one of Chicago’s most anticipated fall traditions.

Visitors can enjoy a variety of attractions, including the Giant Fun Slide, Ferris wheel and Fall Fun Zone. The pumpkin patch is perfect for finding the ideal gourd, while s’mores stations and fall-themed food add to the seasonal charm. Live entertainment is a highlight, with performances from Mary Macaroni and the Impastas every Sunday from 2:30–4:30 p.m., and bilingual story times hosted by the Chicago Public Library on Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. These storytimes feature American Sign Language on September 27, Spanish on October 4, and Polish on October 25.
Animal lovers will appreciate the special enrichment sessions, where zoo animals receive seasonal treats and activities, providing insight into their natural behaviors. Additionally, professional pumpkin carvers showcase their skills every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., adding an artistic touch to the festivities.
