Navy Pier is rolling out its largest lineup of free, Pier-produced summer programming ever for 2026, featuring concerts, movies, fitness classes, festivals, fireworks and brand-new attractions across the lakefront destination.
The expanded season celebrates several major milestones, including the 100th anniversary of Route 66, the 10th anniversary of the iconic Centennial Wheel and America 250 celebrations, highlighted by Navy Pier’s biggest Fourth of July fireworks show ever.

“This summer reflects our commitment to creating more opportunities for guests to gather, experience authentic Chicago culture and enjoy the lakefront,” said Marilynn Gardner, president/CEO Navy Pier.

Highlights of Summer 2026
Polk Bros Park will host an expanded lineup of live entertainment and community events, including the new Lake Stage Summer Concert Series with performances from partners such as the Jazz Institute of Chicago, Old Town School of Folk Music and WBEZ.
Popular favorites also return, including:
Movies at the Pier on Monday nights
Pier Fitness classes presented by Northwestern Medicine
Skyline Sessions live music series
Live on the Lake performances at the Beer Garden
Wave Wall Wax DJ nights and dance performances
Major concerts are also planned for the East End Plaza, including performances by Chris Lake and ZHU.
New Attractions
New for 2026 is Summer Skate at the Pier, a roller-skating experience opening June 18 inside the former Crystal Gardens space. The venue will feature themed skate nights, DJs and arcade-style entertainment.
The Pier is also introducing:
Summer Sundays with music, games and family activities
Summer Block Parties inspired by classic Chicago neighborhood celebrations
The new RYTHM Stage at the Navy Pier Beer Garden
Fireworks and Festivals
Navy Pier’s award-winning fireworks return every Wednesday and Saturday from Memorial Day through Labor Day. For the first time in more than a decade, the Pier will host a major Saturday night Fourth of July celebration with an expanded fireworks display.

Summer festivals will include Pride celebrations, LatiNxt Festival, Fresh Fest! and Chicago Live!, the Midwest’s largest free performing arts festival.
