PAWS Chicago has been named Best Pet Adoption or Animal Shelter in the Chicago Reader’s Best of Chicago 2025 poll.
This recognition reflects the dedication of the entire PAWS Chicago community. The stats below tell the story.
Served 27,364 homeless and at-risk pets
- Facilitated 4,918 adoptions
- Provided 21,327 free and low-cost spay/neuter surgeries — the most in PAWS history
- Placed 2,268 animals in loving foster homes
- Helped support a 20% increase in adoptions at Chicago Animal Care & Control — a CACC adoption record
