To celebrate the opening, the cafe will host a three-day grand opening event from June 26 through June 28 beginning at 10 a.m. daily. Guests can expect surprise giveaways, special promotions, interactive photo opportunities and exclusive merchandise available only at the Chicago location.

The cafe's menu combines playful presentation with elevated offerings. Guests can enjoy freshly made Bow Waffles, Apple Pie Vanilla Lattes, Melon Soda Floats and fresh lemonades, along with a selection of Hello Kitty and Friends-themed pastries, character sugar cookies and colorful macarons in flavors including vanilla bean, green tea, strawberry, salted caramel and blue raspberry.

One of the most unique features is the Chicago-exclusive "Bow Room," a hidden speakeasy-inspired space designed for a reservation-only Afternoon Tea experience. The room accommodates up to 50 guests and features concealed entryways, themed décor, photo booths and immersive installations designed for social media-worthy moments.

The cafe's design embraces Hello Kitty's signature charm with a playful pink-and-blue color palette, nods to the Chicago skyline and a dedicated retail section showcasing collectible merchandise available only at this location. Outdoor patio seating along Wacker Drive accommodates 40 guests, while the main cafe offers seating for 60 indoors.

The Chicago location joins a growing collection of Hello Kitty Cafe destinations across North America, including locations in California and Las Vegas, but officials say this flagship cafe will be the largest and most immersive to date.

Created by Sanrio in 1974, Hello Kitty has become one of the world's most recognizable characters, joined by fan favorites including My Melody, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll, Pompompurin, Keroppi and Badtz-Maru. Today, Sanrio products are sold in more than 130 countries worldwide.
