She praised his accomplishments, from expanding health care to advancing marriage equality, while emphasizing that he never lost sight of the everyday Americans he set out to serve. Turning to the purpose of the Obama Presidential Center, she described it as a “beacon of hope” and a celebration of values like empathy, honesty, inclusion and fairness. She urged visitors to see the center not as a monument to one family, but as a living reminder that democracy depends on ordinary people making the choice to participate, care for one another and believe in a better future. Closing on an uplifting note, she encouraged the public to use the campus as a place to gather, learn, connect and renew their faith in the power of community and collective action.
