The City of Chicago and the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) have revealed the complete lineup for the 2025 Chicago Air & Water Show, set to unfold on Saturday, August 16, and Sunday, August 17. The event, taking place along the scenic lakefront from Fullerton Avenue to Oak Street, with North Avenue Beach as the show center, runs daily from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This year’s headliners include the US Army Parachute Team Golden Knights and the US Air Force Thunderbirds. The event, characterized by its accessibility and excitement, remains the largest free-admission show of its caliber in the world, states the press release. “We’re excited to welcome back world-class performers like the Golden Knights, who have an unforgettable weekend of entertainment planned,” said Clinée Hedspeth, the DCASE Commissioner, in the announcement.

The Warbird Thunder Airshows will feature the SNJ-2 and SNJ-3, historic World War II-era aircraft, leading a fast-paced formation routine. This year’s event also celebrates the 250th anniversaries of the US Army and Marine Corps, acknowledging their profound contributions.
The 2025 show will feature top military performers, including the US Air Force C-17 Demo and the Illinois Air National Guard KC-135. Attendees can also anticipate thrilling civilian acts like Bill Stein Airshows and the Folds of Honor Biplane, promising an exhilarating experience along Chicago’s beautiful lakefront.
