The Chicago Park District is ringing in the new year with its annual Free Fitness Centers Week. Chicagoans can kick start their new year’s fitness resolutions with free access to any of the park district’s 71 fitness centers through January 7, 2024.

The Chicago Park District’s indoor fitness centers are located in city parks throughout the city, and feature computerized treadmills, multi-station weight machines, cross trainers, upright bikes, recumbent bikes, and other state-of-the-art equipment.

“Our goal is to motivate our residents to increase physical activity minutes by walking, swimming, weightlifting, running, yoga and much more”, said the Chicago Park District in a statement, “...not only to improve physical health, but to elevate their moods, and boost their overall mental health.”

No membership is required for access during Free Fitness Centers Week, but pre-registration is recommended. Visit the Chicago Park District’s official site to view a full list of fitness centers and secure your spot.
