A dreaded activity for some has turned into an interactive pastime for many. The Lakeview Run Club has built a community of support for runners with a twist of fun.
The group meets weekly at the playground of Nettelhorst Elementary School, located at Melrose & Broadway, every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. The club runs year-round, raising heart rates in snow or shine.
Runners and walkers of all paces are welcome to join and can choose whatever distance they desire. After the group workout, participants meet for food and drinks at Vines On Clark for $7 pizzas and $5 select beers.
This running community has combined the love of running with opportunities to meet and make new friends. The club is rounding its third year and is ready for many more interactive runs.
