Mayor Brandon Johnson and the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) have unveiled the lineup for the 2024 Chicago Jazz Festival, occurring over Labor Day Weekend from Thursday, August 29, to Sunday, September 1.

A beloved Labor Day tradition in Chicago, the festival will take place in Millennium Park and the Chicago Cultural Center, bringing together local and global artists to honor one of Chicago's most celebrated musical genres. DCASE and the Jazz Institute of Chicago (JIC) are responsible for producing and programming the event.

Headlining acts for the 2024 festival include Amina Claudine Myers, Kenny Garrett, Catherine Russell, the Spanish Harlem Orchestra, and Sounds from the Ancestors, according to a statement from the mayor's office. Chicago natives Tomeka Reid, Bethany Pickens, and Miguel de la Cerna will also participate in the festival, contributing to the array of diverse performances.

Chicago Cultural Events impact on jazz music is recognized globally, and our city's powerful and significant contributions are showcased annually at The Chicago Jazz Festival,” stated DCASE Commissioner Clinée Hedspeth in a statement. “Making world-class programming, like the iconic Chicago Jazz Festival, free and accessible furthers the City of Chicago’s commitment to honor and celebrate the City’s music legacy for generations to come.”

The Chicago Jazz Festival is free and open to the public. View the full lineup including all show times and stages on the DCASE homepage.
