The non-profit initiative Friends of the Chicago Harbor Lighthouse will host a presentation this week detailing their plans to restore the historic Chicago Harbor Lighthouse.
Initially constructed in 1893 for the World’s Fair, the lighthouse has weathered the storms of Lake Michigan for over 125 years. Now owned by the City of Chicago, the structure requires repairs to ensure its longevity.
Friends of the Chicago Harbor Lighthouse is collaborating with the City of Chicago to preserve, restore, and celebrate the lighthouse for generations. The organization welcomes the public to a presentation covering the lighthouse’s history and ongoing preservation efforts.
