Chicago VHS collectors Joe Pickett of Found Footage Fest and Scott Miller of Strange Tapes Zine will bring a new batch of tape oddities to the Music Box Theatre on Thursday, Aug. 6. The Found Footage Fest features more than 16,000 hand-picked VHS tapes collected by the pair, with no internet clips included, according to the event listing.

The screening will be built around found video that ranges from strangers' home movies to amateur UFO investigations and forgotten TV oddities. The listing also says the mix may include an exercise video hosted by Joe Diffie.
The event is set for 9:15 p.m. CDT at the Music Box Theatre, 3733 N. Southport Ave. in Chicago. The program is expected to run between about 80 and 90 minutes and may include language and nudity, according to both websites.

The screening is one of Music Box Theatre’s late-night offerings for the month. Other top showings now playing and coming soon at the theatre include new hit movie The Odyssey, Sheep in the Box, Cookie Queens, and WTO/99.
