What’s new at the Brookfield Zoo: Koalas, an Easter extravaganza, and a Ferris wheel

Spring is just around the corner and Brookfield Zoo is celebrating the start of the season with a host of new attractions. Join the zoo this March for special spring programming and other exciting surprises.

Anniversary Ferris Wheel

In honor of Brookfield Zoo’s 90th anniversary, visitors can take a ride on a towering 130-foot-tall Ferris wheel and enjoy bird’s eye views of the park and the Chicago skyline. Open from March 15 through December 31, the Ferris wheel will feature 24 carts, each with room for up to 6 people.

Bunny Hop Springtime Extravaganza

New to the zoo in 2024 is the Bunny Hop Extravaganza on Saturday, March 23. Included in the price of general admission, visitors will get to partake in an Easter egg scavenger hunt and win a prize from the gift shop. A live DJ set and Bunny Hop dance party will accompany the day's events. Children can also line up to grab a picture with the Easter Bunny from 1 - 4 p.m.

Bunny Brunch

Hop over to Brookfield Zoo on Saturdays, March 23 and 30, and Sunday, March 31 for Brunch with the Bunny, an all-inclusive brunch event. Families can enjoy an all-you-can-eat brunch buffet, live entertainment, and kid-friendly activities.

New and returning animal exhibits

This summer Brookfield Zoo is welcoming several new and returning animal exhibits. Two male Koalas, Brumby and Willum will make their zoo debut, along with several new bird species including Sandhill Cranes and Great Prairie Chickens.

Brookfield Zoo’s Dolphins in Action presentation is returning this spring following renovations on the Seven Seas habitat. Starting March 22, guests can once again see the Zoo’s seven Bottlenose dolphins splash and play in their newly restored habitat.
