Formula 1 Racing (F1) brought its RB18 racing car to Chicago’s “L” train on September 20 in partnership with Red Bull and the CTA. The F1 racing car circled the Loop along the “L” track throughout the afternoon, giving commuters an exclusive close-up of the iconic vehicle.

Formula 1’s RB18 car took off from Howard station and arrived downtown at 10 a.m., where it began circling the Loop. Riders could still board the attached “L” train and ride around the Loop with the car.

Viewing areas were set up around the Loop, with locations at Madison and Michigan, LaSalle and Wacker, and Adams and Wells. At the Adams and Wabash “L” stop, F1 fans could view the car from the station’s overhead bridges.

On Friday, September 29, F1's RB7 racing car will be racing over to the United Center for Chicago’s first-ever Red Bull Showrun. Madison Street and the surrounding area will be transformed into a closed circuit spanning over 2,000 ft.

F1 driver Patrick Friesacher will take the urban route to execute flawless donuts and roaring burnouts in front of a cheering crowd. The event will bring family and friends together and allow fans of all ages to get up close and personal with the F1 car.

The event is free and open to the public. Guests must RSVP for entry.
