Jude Bellingham scored two goals to send England into the World Cup semifinals with a 2-1 extra-time victory over Norway on Saturday in Miami Gardens, Florida. The Real Madrid star tied teammate Harry Kane with six tournament goals, trailing only Kylian Mbappé and Lionel Messi, according to ESPN.
Andreas Schjelderup gave Norway a 1-0 lead in the 36th minute with a left-foot shot off the far post, ESPN reported. Yahoo Sports added that Bellingham equalized for England in first-half stoppage time, then scored a close-range goal three minutes into extra time to secure the win.

England coach Thomas Tuchel called the performance “sloppy” despite the result. “The commitment is there, but we made life very very difficult for us in the way we played,” Tuchel said, as reported by ESPN.
Controversy clouds quarterfinal
The match featured disputed officiating, including a moment when the ball appeared to hit an aerial sky-cam wire before landing at England’s Elliot Anderson’s feet. FIFA denied the ball hit the wire after checking sensor data, Yahoo Sports stated.
Norway also had a goal disallowed after VAR review for a foul by Erling Haaland on Anderson, ESPN confirmed. Later, a penalty awarded to England was reversed after a video review.

Bellingham dismissed critiques of the team’s play. “Yeah well, whatever, whatever,” he said, noting the difficulty of the conditions, ESPN reported. “It's difficult out there, it's a tough shift, all the players have put in a very tough shift, so my thoughts and appreciation goes to the players who were out there, who put in a great shift yet again.”
England will face the winner of Argentina versus Switzerland in the semifinals on Wednesday in Atlanta, as the team seeks its first World Cup title since 1966, Yahoo Sports noted.
