Rumors of a blockbuster NBA trade have linked the Boston Celtics and Golden State Warriors, with a proposal that would send Stephen Curry to Boston in a deal centered on Jaylen Brown. The idea was proposed by Colin Kennedy of 98.5 The Sports Hub, per Hoops Wire.
Kennedy said the concept is “trending more towards fantasyland,” but added that “the contracts are comparable, and a one-for-one swap is possible,” Hoops Wire confirmed. He also said more players would likely be needed to complete the deal.

Why the trade makes sense on paper
From a basketball view, the attraction is clear. Curry next to Jayson Tatum would give Boston another elite shot-maker and more late-game scoring options, according to Sporting News. That kind of pairing could reshape the Celtics’ offense after their playoff disappointment.
For Golden State, Brown would bring a younger wing who can score, defend, and take on a larger role as the roster changes. The move would also fit the type of big-market, high-profile trade talk that often fills the NBA offseason.
Still, the reports say the idea faces a major obstacle: the Warriors are not expected to move Curry. Hoops Wire noted, “We all know that the Warriors aren’t trading Curry. Not now, not ever.”

Warriors, Celtics face offseason questions
The Celtics are said to be looking for answers after a painful first-round playoff exit, while Golden State continues to seek a more stable title path around Curry. Brown is extension eligible this summer, and one report said a decision on that deal could affect whether Boston ever explores a major move.
For now, the trade remains a headline-grabbing idea rather than a likely transaction. The reporting makes clear that the framework can be discussed, but a Curry deal would require a rare shift from a franchise built around him.
