CTA Orange Line service has been disrupted after a train derailment on Monday morning. The incident occurred at approximately 6:30 a.m. near the Ashland stop in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the derailment was relatively minor, with no injuries reported. The Orange Line services the southwest neighborhoods of Chicago and connects the Loop to Midway International Airport.
The CTA reports service is suspended between the Ashland and 35th/Archer Orange Line stops. Commuters to Chicago’s Midway Airport should plan ahead and allow for extra travel time.
