Angel Reese, a standout WNBA Chicago Sky player and one of the brightest young stars in women's basketball, has made quite a name for herself in basketball and business. A Randallstown, Maryland native, Reese recently bought a stunning $1.3 million home in southwest suburban Lemont.
Reese shared on social media that she had crossed off two major goals from her vision board within the first four months of the year: buying her dream home and earning enough to allow her mother to retire.
The home spans 3,600 square feet and boasts four spacious bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, and a media room ideal for relaxing after long games. The property is on an approximately half-acre lot and includes a three-car garage and a lookout basement. The house is modern and elegant, with high-end finishes and an open-air floor plan. It is the perfect place for the young athlete to relax, entertain, and recharge between games.
Thanks to her parents’ athletic background, Reese grew up with basketball in her veins. According to ESPN, Angel’s parents were collegiate basketball players. Her mom, also named Angel, played for the University of Maryland before starting a professional career in Luxembourg. Her father originally played for Boston College before transferring to Loyola University in Maryland and beginning a professional basketball career in Europe.
Reese first gained national attention in high school at Saint Frances Academy in Baltimore, earning McDonald's All-American honors. After spending her freshman year at the University of Maryland, she transferred to Louisiana State University (LSU) basketball, where she helped lead the team to its first national championship in 2023. For her performance, she was named the Most Outstanding Player.
As a student at LSU, Reese had one of the highest NIL (name, image, and likeness) valuations of any college athlete, second only to fellow WNBA standout Caitlin Clark. The Chicago Sky selected Reese as the 7th overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, marking the beginning of her professional career.
At just 22, her rise to prominence has been swift. ESPN reported that during her rookie year, she received several honors, such as WNBA Rookie of the Month, leading the league in rebounds, and setting a rookie record with 446 total rebounds. She was also selected to the WNBA All-Rookie Team, became an All-Star, and set a new league record with 15 consecutive double-doubles.
Before settling into her suburban home, Reese lived in a loft-style apartment in Chicago’s South Loop. This chic, high-rise apartment was a luxurious base for her as she transitioned to professional life. Renting for a hefty $8,000 a month, the unit offered an array of amenities, including a gym with Pilates and spin studios, a squash court, a full-size boxing ring, a golf simulator, an indoor pool, and even a basketball court. Reese’s corner unit boasted stunning floor-to-ceiling windows that gave her views of the Chicago skyline and added to the apartment’s stylish charm. Known for her social media presence, Reese frequently showed fans her upscale lifestyle, showcasing her apartment and other aspects of her brand.
With lucrative sponsorship deals under her belt, including partnerships with major brands like Reebok, Beats by Dre, and Raising Cane’s, Reese is proving to be an astute businesswoman. Her off-court ventures, including her podcast "Unapologetically Angel" and her DC Power Football Club investment, demonstrate her diverse talents and entrepreneurial spirit.
Her reported net worth is around $2 million, but Reese herself hints that it could be much higher, thanks to her investments and growing brand. She’s not just focused on dominating the WNBA; she is setting herself up for long-term success in various industries.
As Reese continues to shine on the court for the Chicago Sky, it’s clear that she’s positioning herself as not only a future star of the WNBA but also a role model for young athletes looking to carve out their own paths. Her ability to balance a burgeoning basketball career with her entrepreneurial pursuits sets her apart as one of the most promising athletes of her generation.
