Google is expanding its onsite wellness centers to three new US locations, with a new center planned for its Chicago office in Fulton Market.
According to 9to5Google, the planned wellness centers will offer primary and mental healthcare, physical therapy, annual flu shots, and chiropractic services. The centers will also feature new specialty care options, including a pharmacy, dermatology, and other services. Full, part-time, and international employees will all have access to the wellness centers.
The new wellness center is one of several developments planned for Google’s Chicago workforce. In July 2022, Google announced its plans to purchase the James R. Thompson Center in downtown Chicago, moving more than 1,800 employees from its Fulton Market office.
The company plans to relocate to the Thompson Center once renovations on the building conclude in 2026. Google executives are hopeful the move will spur a broader revitalization of the Loop, an area of Chicago that has struggled economically since the pandemic.
