Chicago’s nightlife scene just got a little more interesting as one of the city's most celebrated mixologists brings her blend of fun and flavor to Bar Bambi, West Town's newest cocktail lounge.
Opened on Saturday, Feb. 14, Bar Bambi is the first solo project by award-winning bartender Katie Renshaw, acclaimed for her work across town at cocktail meccas such as The Aviary, The Hawksmoore, and Moneygun, according to a press release.
Located at 1703 W. Chicago Ave., Bar Bambi will be a new cornerstone in the heart of the popular West Town social scene. Complete with playful pink hues, lounge seating, and a custom-made light fixture that ebbs and flows throughout the night, the 1200 square foot, 50-seat establishment was designed by world-renowned firm Gensler to be both welcoming and perfect for repeat visits.
Featuring Renshaw’s unique talent as both a “technician and tastemaker,” cocktail options will include standouts such as the Three Decibel Rule with Ketel One vodka, Cocchi Americano, lychee, yellow bell pepper and creme fraiche, clarified and poured freezer-cold; and the Repeat Offender, a carbonated blend of Ford’s gin, Campari, apricot, jasmine and tonka bean.

According to the press release, food will also be available at Bar Bambi with a spread of signature bar bites curated by renowned chef Nicklus Byrns, aimed at pairing seamlessly with Renshaws drinks.
The establishment will also offer a line of zero-proof drinks for those looking to remain spirit-free. The space will largely be on a first come first serve basis, but some limited reservations will be accepted ahead of time.
Among her many awards over a decade of work, the press release states that Renshaw has been named the 2017 Speed Rack Midwest Champion, 2018 Italicus Bar Artist of the Year, and the prestigious title of 2019 U.S. World Class Bartender of the Year.
