Revel is reinforcing its role in New York City’s renewable energy landscape with a new electric vehicle (EV) charging hub in Williamsburg. The Superhub, located at the historic Dime Building, demonstrates Revel's commitment to grid-optimized charging solutions. This infrastructure aims to support the city's shift toward cleaner energy by using SmartKit technology to manage energy loads and reduce emissions, reports Yahoo Finance. Faced with increasing electrification, Revel's implementation of SmartKit Demand Response technology optimizes vehicle charging schedules. This coordination helps minimize peak-hour energy consumption, reducing reliance on fossil fuel peaker plants, which are known for higher emissions.

As Paul Suhey, Revel COO & Co-Founder, noted in Yahoo’s report, "Our Williamsburg Superhub proves that EV infrastructure can be a grid asset, not a strain, by dynamically responding to grid stress signals.”

During the extreme heat of June 2025, New York's electricity usage reached critical levels, as reported by the New York Independent System Operator (NYISO). Revel's SmartKit technology allowed for significant relief by curtailing up to 250 kilowatts of load at the Williamsburg Superhub. This curtailment contributes not only to grid stability but also generates revenue through utility-demand incentives, noted Bluefield Daily Telegraph.

As the company deepens its venture into EV infrastructure, Revel is ending its rideshare service in New York. This change reflects a strategic pivot to meet the city's increasing energy demands sustainably. Revel plans to sell its fleet of rideshare vehicles, aiming to capitalize on high-value license plates, as mentioned by CEO Frank Reig in Bloomberg. This decision marks an innovative step towards an environmentally conscious business model as Revel joins forces with partners like Uber Technologies Inc.

Through these initiatives, Revel positions itself at the forefront of NYC’s renewable energy transition, ensuring an impactful role in modernizing urban energy solutions.
