Tesla has recalled over 11,000 of its Cybertrucks due to malfunctions impacting the trunk and windshield wiper, the latest in an ongoing saga of recalls impacting the vehicles.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Tesla informed the NHTSA that portions of the Cybertruck trunk bed could possibly detach, creating a road hazard. Additionally, the motor for the front windshield wiper has been found to malfunction, causing visibility problems for drivers.
Tesla has stated it isn't aware of any accidents, injuries, or fatalities related to either problem, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The newly announced Cybertruck recalls are the second round of recalls the company has issued in June alone. Earlier this month, Tesla recalled various other vehicle models due to seat-belt problems.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the EV manufacturer will inform impacted consumers through mail in August and plans to fix the wiper motors and trunk free of charge.
Tesla's Cybertruck launched in November of 2023 and has faced several recalls so far. In April, Tesla postponed deliveries and issued a recall for the accelerator pedal, which was reportedly prone to becoming stuck.
