Hyde Park Summer Fest, a two-day music festival that celebrates Chicago culture, announced it’s musical lineup for June 17-18, featuring the iconic hip-hop duo Clipse as the event’s headlining act. This year’s festival is special because 2023 marks the 50th anniversary of the birth of hip hop.

In addition to Clipse, the festival will feature performances from 2 Chainz, Robert Glasper, Tobe Nwigwe, Uncle Waffles, Terry Hunter, Twista, Shawnna, Do Or Die, Crucial Conflict, Vic Mensa and Jonathan McReynolds with more artists added to the line up soon.

"As a Black-owned festival, it's important for us to create a welcoming, inclusive space for our neighbors and business owners to celebrate Chicago culture through music and food while honoring hip-hop's impact on the world," said Jonathan Swain, founder of Hyde Park Summer Fest.

The current incarnation of the festival began in 2022. Proceeds were donated to five area high schools, and the event created 200 temporary jobs in the community while supporting more than 50 local small businesses, a record organizers say they hope to surpass in 2023.
