The performances, both at 7:30 p.m. in the George Van Dusen Theatre, are part of the company’s 64th season. The program will feature a mix of new choreography and repertoire, showcasing the athleticism, musicality and emotional intensity that have long defined Giordano Dance Chicago.

Founded by jazz dance pioneer Gus Giordano, the company has spent decades expanding the possibilities of American jazz dance while building an international reputation. Nan Giordano, who has served as artistic director for more than four decades, continues that legacy with work that combines the energy and precision of jazz with contemporary movement.

The North Shore engagement is just one stop on a packed schedule for the company.

GDC is scheduled to appear at Chicago Live! at Navy Pier on Sept. 19, with performances by both Giordano Dance Chicago and Giordano II as part of the free performing arts festival.

Then on Oct. 8, the company will host its popular Dancing With the Giordano Stars benefit at Park West. The annual event pairs Chicago personalities with GDC dancers for a competition-style evening judged by a panel of celebrity judges, with proceeds supporting the company’s programs.

The company also recently brought its distinctive style to DancerPalooza in Anaheim, California, where GDC participated in the dance intensive and presented a company performance.

And there is more on the horizon. Giordano Dance Chicago is scheduled to return to the Harris Theater for Music and Dance April 2-3, 2027, as part of its 64th season. The engagement is expected to feature new works, including world premieres by Resident Choreographer Al Blackstone and Cuban American choreographer and movement artist Ricky Ubeda.

For North Shore audiences, “untamed passion” provides a chance to experience the company’s work close to home while getting a glimpse of why Giordano Dance Chicago has remained a major force in American jazz dance.
