Winterland at Gallagher Way opens Nov. 23 with Christkindlmarket, holiday fun

Winterland at Gallagher Way is set to return on Nov. 23, offering a festive holiday experience through Dec. 31. This year's festivities include the Christkindlmarket Wrigleyville, the Gallagher Ice Rink, and a variety of seasonal activities such as Santa’s Workshop, wreath-making workshops, and holiday movie nights.

The Christkindlmarket Wrigleyville, rooted in German tradition, features over 30 vendor booths offering traditional German and international food, beverages, and handmade crafts. Admission to Gallagher Way and the Christkindlmarket is free, though some activities require on-site purchases.

Key events and activities

Visitors can enjoy the Gallagher Ice Rink, which will remain open until Feb. 15, 2026, offering ice skating, bumper cars, and themed skate nights.

Santa’s Workshop will be open from Nov. 28 to Dec. 24, allowing families to take photos withSanta. Additionally, wreath-making workshops will be held on Dec. 6 and 7 in partnership with Indigo & Violet Studio.

New additions and special events

New this year are Learn to Skate lessons and curling activities starting in January 2026. The annual Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place on Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. Hotel Zachary will host Teddy Bear Tea and Breakfast with Santa, offering unique holiday experiences for families.

Winterland's regular hours are Monday through Thursday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Special hours apply on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve.
