If you’re looking for an excuse to break out the lederhosen, grab a giant pretzel and raise a stein, Oktoberfest Nation is bringing six weeks of Bavarian-style fun to Fulton Market this fall. Billed as Chicago’s largest Oktoberfest, the celebration returns September 17 through October 26, 2026, transforming 171 N. Peoria Street into a sprawling outdoor German festival filled with beer, food, music, games and plenty of opportunities to say “Prost!”

The big draw is the beer. Oktoberfest Nation is pouring official Hofbräu München beer imported from Munich, along with seasonal cocktails, wine, cider, hard seltzers and nonalcoholic beverages.
And then there’s the food. Expect traditional German bratwurst, giant Bavarian pretzels and other hearty festival fare designed for sharing while soaking up the atmosphere.
The entertainment is just as much a part of the experience. Guests can catch live German Oompah bands, DJs, dancing, stein-holding contests, carnival games and the legendary Devil’s Wheel, a giant spinning attraction that has become one of the festival’s signature spectacles. Costumes are encouraged, with lederhosen and dirndls available for those who want to fully embrace the Bavarian spirit.

The celebration is all ages, although guests must be 21 or older with valid identification to purchase or consume alcohol. The event takes place outdoors and is scheduled to continue rain or shine.
With Fulton Market already known for its packed restaurant scene and nightlife, Oktoberfest Nation adds another reason to head to the neighborhood this fall.
