As the sun sets, the excitement rises with the country’s largest evening parade, stepping off from Oak Street at 5:30 p.m. and traveling down North Michigan Avenue to the Chicago River. Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse from Walt Disney World Resort will once again serve as grand marshals, leading a spectacular procession of illuminated floats, giant helium balloons, marching bands, costumed characters and celebrity guests. Beloved Disney favorites—Goofy, Stitch, Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Anna, and Elsa, will bring holiday magic to life atop dazzling themed floats.

Chicago’s creative community also takes center stage with artist Matthew Hoffman, creator of the “You Are Beautiful” movement, joining the parade wearing his custom-designed “Chicago Shines Bright” sweater, a message of joy and positivity that will literally glow along the route. Fans may even score one of the limited-edition sweaters handed out during the event.
The music doesn’t stop with the parade. DJ White Shadow, the Grammy-winning Chicago producer behind Lady Gaga’s biggest hits, will debut a brand-new float celebrating Chicago’s music legacy with live dancers and performers. Club Nouveau, the synth-soul group known for their classic “Lean on Me,” will also bring retro flair to the celebration.
More than one million lights will illuminate over 200 trees on North Michigan Avenue, transforming the Magnificent Mile into a glittering wonderland. Nearly one million spectators are expected to gather for this beloved holiday tradition, making it one of the largest parades in the country.
The grand finale arrives with Santa Claus aboard the Wintrust float, followed by the spectacular Wintrust Fireworks Display over the Chicago River around 7:15 p.m.
All events are free and open to the public. For full details, visit TheMagnificentMile.com.
