Anthropic launched Claude Opus 4.7 on Thursday, according to CNBC. The model powers new tools for design and coding. It tops benchmarks but stays safer than Claude Mythos.
Claude Opus 4.7 excels in software engineering and vision tasks, according to Anthropic. It handles high-resolution images up to 3.75 megapixels. Users report strong results on tough coding challenges.
Design tool transforms workflows
Alongside, Anthropic introduced Claude Design from Anthropic Labs on Friday, April 17. According to Anthropic’s announcement, this tool lets users create prototypes, slides, and mockups via chat. It runs on Claude Opus 4.7 for Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise users.
Designers explore ideas fast with Claude Design. Product managers sketch wireframes for handoff. Founders build pitch decks in minutes, as reported by Anthropic.
The tool pulls in team design systems from codebases. Users refine via comments, edits, or sliders, the website states. Exports can go to PDF, PPTX, or Canva.
"Even experienced designers have to ration exploration," Anthropic said in its announcement. Claude Design frees them to test more options. It supports realistic prototypes without coding.
Claude Opus 4.7 beats Claude Opus 4.6 in agentic coding and reasoning, Anthropic stated in another press release. Scores hit 87.6% on the SWE-bench Verified. Yet it trails Claude Mythos Preview, limited to Project Glasswing partners.
Anthropic built safeguards into Claude Opus 4.7 to block high-risk cyber uses. "We are releasing Opus 4.7 with safeguards that automatically detect and block requests," the company said, per CNBC.

Claude Mythos leads in benchmarks like 93.9% on SWE-bench. But safety concerns keep it from wide release. Anthropic aims to learn from controlled tests.
Access Claude Opus 4.7 matches prior pricing via API or clouds like Amazon Bedrock. Claude Design starts at claude.ai/design. Teams can enable it in settings.
Improvements include better instruction-following and visual detail. A new "xhigh" effort level aids complex tasks. Builders note that prompt tweaks may help.
These launches push AI design and coding forward. Anthropic balances power with responsibility.
