Well, that takes some of the fun out of it.
The highly anticipated Chicago Sky home game this Sunday, July 27, versus the Indiana Fever will most likely not be featuring what we might call “the main attraction.”
Although it’s not official yet, Caitlyn Clark is likely to be on the bench, but not suited up for the game.
The official team response was, “In all likelihood, Caitlin Clark will miss a significant amount of playing time with her most recent injury.”
That does not sound particularly optimistic for a quick turnaround for this Sunday’s matchup.

Clark strained her right groin at the end of the Connecticut game last week. She immediately winced in pain and went to the bench for assistance. She sat out this past weekend’s All-Star Game and the Tuesday game against New York.
Too bad. Fans were really looking forward to the rematch (won by the Fever earlier this season), including the Angel Reese-Caitlin Clark rivalry, which has–to say the least–becomequite intense.
Ticket sales for the game were such that, before the season even started, the decision was made to move the game to the United Center (instead of the Sky’s normal home, the Wintrust Arena) so thousands more fans could get to see the game.
That part worked! Ticket sales have been off the charts with seats going for $300 to $400–and courtside even more!
But sadly, it seems (though not official yet) that all might go for naught.
Injuries are, of course, part of the game, and there will no doubt be some disappointed kids and adults, all who were looking to get a live, in-personlook at their favorite player—but fans of both teams hope the game will still be a great one!
