Michelin has added six new restaurants to its 2024 Chicago Guide, encompassing a range of global cuisines. From Asian-inspired eats to Mexican fare, the latest edition of the Michelin Guide Chicago is the ultimate resource for dining in the Windy City.
Mexican restaurants Cariño and Taqueria Chingón on the North Side both made the list, along with Middle Eastern eatery Sifr in River North. For contemporary Asian flair, Michelin recommends Maxwells Trading in trendy West Loop. Those seeking modern American fare should give Warlord in Logan Square a try, or John's Food and Wine in Lincoln Park.
According to Michelin, Maxwells Trading offers a mix of global cuisine, with standout dishes including Japanese sweet potatoes, pasta dishes, scallion bread, and crab dip. Just over the river, Sifr draws inspiration from Middle Eastern and Mediterranean flavors, serving up delectable hummus plates, shareable mezze platters, and wood-fired kebabs.
Cariño takes Mexican cuisine to luxurious, fine dining heights with salmon aguachile, duck confit tetelas, and chile infused caviar on the menu. Eating out on a smaller budget? Taqueria Chingón has elevated Mexican fare at reasonable prices, with street tacos of every flavor, inventive quesadillas, and house specials like the Chingón Crunchwrap.
Sleek New American dining meets "live-fire" cooking at Warlord in Avondale. This newly established dining hotspot is turning up the heat with dishes like smoked octopus, grilled scallops, and a dry aged burger. For low key neighborhood ambience, Michelin names John's Food and Wine as a perfect gathering spot, with affordable comfort dishes like beef fat fries and pulled pork sandwiches.
The six new establishments in the Michelin Guide Chicago 2024 exemplify culinary excellence in Chicago, and outline just a few Chicago restaurants at the cutting edge of food. Be sure to check out the full Michelin Guide Chicago when planning your next night out!
