The popular supernatural horror series, "Goosebumps", has been canceled by Disney Plus after garnering over 75 million viewing hours across its two seasons. The series, inspired by R. L. Stine's best-selling books, followed a group of high schoolers navigating a mystery involving a decades-old death, as reported by Men's Journal.

Despite the series' impressive viewing statistics, "Goosebumps" will not continue for a third season on Disney Plus. The show, which also aired on Hulu, was canceled after the completion of its second season in January 2025. According to Yahoo Entertainment, the cancellation came as a surprise to fans, given its popularity and the estimated 43 million additional viewing hours amassed in international markets.

No reason has been cited for the show’s cancellation, Men’s Journal says.

Potential revival for Season 3

While "Goosebumps" has been discontinued on Disney Plus, there is still potential for a third season, some sources say. Sony Pictures Television, a partner in the series' production alongside Scholastic Entertainment and Disney Branded Television, plans to shop the show to other networks and streaming platforms, says Yahoo Entertainment. Yahoo added that Variety reported how this approach could open the door to new creative directions and revive the series outside of Disney's platform.

According to Men’s Journal, fans have expressed mixed feelings about the cancellation on social media, with some lamenting the end of the show and others hoping for a new beginning on a different platform. Notably, the show's format departed from the 1995 anthology style, offering a fresh narrative with each season, Yahoo reported.

As Sony continues to explore options for "Goosebumps," fans remain hopeful that the beloved series could find a new home and possibly unravel more mysteries in a potential third season.
