Why “Homefront” is winning on streaming

The film features a former undercover DEA agent who moves to a small town with his daughter after his wife’s death. When school bullying escalates quickly into a conflict with a local meth kingpin, Broker’s past resurfaces, forcing him to protect his family. Statham leads the cast, with James Franco as the antagonist Morgan Bodine, Yahoo Entertainment noted.

According to Yahoo, despite a modest 42% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes, “Homefront” boasts a 61% audience rating, with viewers calling it a “serious action adventure” that “does not disappoint.” The film’s streaming resurgence highlights its enduring appeal among action fans.

“Shelter” adds to Statham’s streaming success

Another Statham film, “Shelter” (2026), is also a streaming smash. It ranked No. 1 on Starz’s U.S. charts for 37 days and remains among Prime Video’s top global movies, according to Movie Web. Though a box office flop ($54M gross vs. $50M budget), “Shelter” has a 64% critics score and 87% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, the report confirmed.

“Statham delivers another hit!” says a five-star review, summarizing the consensus: “It’s Jason… next question,” Movie Web reported. Both films prove Statham’s unmatched draw on streaming platforms, where older and newer titles alike thrive.
