One of Chicago's most beloved summer traditions is set to return as Amdur Productions brings the 68th annual Gold Coast Art Fair back to Grant Park on June 20-21.
Held at Butler Field between the Art Institute of Chicago and Lake Michigan, the long-running festival will feature more than 200 juried artists from across the country showcasing original works in painting, sculpture, jewelry, photography, ceramics, mixed media and other disciplines. Organizers expect thousands of visitors to attend the two-day event, which has become one of the city's premier outdoor art showcases.

The fair, which traces its roots back nearly seven decades, offers more than fine art. Guests can enjoy live music, food and beverage stations, paint-and-sip experiences, henna art, caricatures, personalized poetry and a variety of interactive activities for children. A dedicated Kids Art Zone will feature face painting, sand art, giant bubbles and other family-friendly attractions.
Set against the backdrop of Chicago's skyline and lakefront, the Gold Coast Art Fair has earned a reputation as one of the Midwest's most prominent art festivals. Amdur Productions describes it as one of the nation's oldest and most attended art fairs, drawing art collectors, tourists and local residents alike.
Tickets are $10 when purchased in advance and $15 at the gate. Admission is free for children 12 and younger. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.
The fair will also support WINGS Program, Inc., a nonprofit organization that provides housing, advocacy and support services for individuals affected by domestic violence. A portion of ticket sales will benefit the organization.
The Gold Coast Art Fair takes place at Butler Field in Grant Park, located at South Lake Shore Drive and East Monroe Street. The venue is accessible by public transportation, offers nearby parking options and welcomes leashed dogs.
