Cocktails with a classic twist: Kitty's Cosmopolitan Club debuts in River North

A new cocktail lounge called Kitty's Cosmopolitan Club opened recently on Friday, March 27 in Chicago's River North, sitting on the lower level of 51 W. Hubbard Street.

According to a press release, the spot comes from Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants and Partner/Beverage Director Kevin Beary. It promises top elegance and service, and the lounge is said to fit any occasion with genuine hospitality.

“Kitty's Cosmopolitan Club's guiding principle is to offer cocktails that have a classic reference point, utilizing modern techniques,” says Beary, as reported by the announcement. “This allows the guest to base their ordering decision on a familiar favorite while enjoying the benefits of modern cocktail-making methods and spirit selection, beyond traditional recipes."

The bar picks just ten top spirits per category for quality, according to the press release, and guests can enjoy tableside stirred martinis. Chicago now has its first -16°F walk-in freezer cocktail station for super-cold drinks, the announcement confirms.

Bar Managers Tyler Maclellan and Scott Kitsmiller lead the team. They bring with them veteran Chicago bar pros, the press release states. The food menu features a raw bar and dim sum. James Beard Award-nominated Chef Thai Dang of Crying Tiger and HaiSous Vietnamese Kitchen created it with Chef Bob Broskey of RPM Restaurants and Gus’ Sip & Dip, as reported by the press release.

Opulent design and booking details

David Collins Studio designed the lavish interior, the announcement states. The studio also did Tre Dita and Crying Tiger. Hours run 5 p.m. to midnight, Wednesday through Sunday.
