LEGO and Pokémon are making history with their first-ever collaboration, launching special building sets just in time for Pokémon's 30th anniversary. According to USA Today, these limited-edition sets will be available for pre-order starting Jan. 13, with official shipping scheduled for Feb. 27. The partnership brings together two of the world's most passionate fan communities, creating excitement across the internet. Pokémon first debuted in Japan on Feb. 27, 1996, and has since built a dedicated following that rivals LEGO's own Adult Fans of LEGO community. USA Today reports that this groundbreaking collaboration features beloved characters transformed into buildable LEGO models, including sets for Pikachu with a Poké Ball, Eevee, and the classic trio of Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise.

Premium sets target adult collectors

The collection includes three main products at different price points, with the Pikachu set leading the way. Yahoo reveals that the 2,050-piece Pikachu set costs $199.99 and shows the yellow electric Pokémon leaping from its signature Poké Ball in a dynamic pose. However, the most impressive offering is the combined Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise set, featuring all three Kanto starter evolutions together.

This massive 6,838-piece set includes unique articulation for each creature and a decorative base showcasing their natural habitats with hidden Easter eggs throughout, as Yahoo notes. The smallest option is the Eevee set with 587 pieces priced at $59.99, offering moveable parts for multiple display positions.

Special promotions and future expansion

The launch includes exciting bonus activities for eager fans beyond just purchasing the sets. 10 WBNS confirms that LEGO and Pokémon will run a digital scavenger hunt through Feb. 27, where participants can search for hidden clues across both brands' platforms to win prizes, including trips to the 2026 Pokémon World Championships in San Francisco. Additionally, according to 10 WBNS, Pokémon Center shoppers who pre-order the large Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise set starting Jan. 12 will receive a free LEGO Pokémon Kanto Region Badge Collection while supplies last.
