Windy City Smokeout announces first-ever “Road to Smokeout” concert series at Bub City

Windy City Smokeout is adding a new weekly concert series, the first-ever “Road to Smokeout,” at Bub City Chicago, as the country music and BBQ festival builds toward its 13th year, according to a press release. The series begins on Friday, June 5, and runs through Friday, June 26.

The lineup includes Landon Wilks on Friday, June 5, Timothy Wayne on Friday, June 12, South City Revival on Friday, June 19, and Atlus on Friday, June 26. The June 19 show is set as an afternoon performance before Morgan Wallen’s Chicago appearance later that night, according to the release. Each event will include drink specials from Busch Light and a chance to win festival tickets.

Festival returns in July

Windy City Smokeout, presented by Busch Light and US99, runs from Wednesday, July 8, through Sunday, July 12, outside the United Center. The opening night lineup starts Wednesday, July 8, with Treaty Oak Revival. The festival then continues with headliners Hootie & The Blowfish, Lainey Wilson, Jordan Davis, and Blake Shelton.

Ed Warm, the ACM Award-winning promoter and Windy City Smokeout co-founder and partner, said the series is meant to spotlight emerging artists. According to the announcement, Warm said acts such as Zach Bryan, Kacey Musgraves, Luke Combs, and Morgan Wallen once played Bub City before rising to larger stages.

The Wednesday kickoff also gives fans a preview of the event’s food lineup, including Bub City and Terry Black’s Barbecue, plus guest appearances from Steel Belly BBQ and Sanders BBQ Supply Co. Other “Beyond BBQ” options include Pizzeria Portofino, Summer House, Chipperbec Fries, Roadside Eats, and Bub City Burgers.

Passes for Windy City Smokeout and tickets for the Wednesday night event are on sale through the festival website. Prices listed in the release include $299 for a four-day general admission pass, $1,251 for VIP, and $2,251 for Platinum. Single-day tickets range from $75 for Wednesday to $99.99 for Saturday.
