Whiskey, burgers, and free kids' meals

At Big Star Wicker Park, the Big Star Smash Burger returns, accompanied by 20% off pours from the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, according to the restaurant’s announcement. Families get a bonus, as children 12 and under eat free off the Lil’ Star menu, staff confirmed. The patio sits beneath the restaurant’s iconic solar-power tent, blending shade and fresh air.

Schneider Deli in Lincoln Park pairs brisket, corned beef, and pastrami sandwiches with draft beer from MICHELIN-starred Moody Tongue Brewery, as reported by the deli. The menu includes latkes with sour cream and applesauce, plus a hot dog with sauerkraut and mustard.

BBQ, steak, and boat adventures

Lexington Betty Smokehouse, championed by Food Network’s 2023 BBQ Brawl, will serve smoked brisket, ribs, and pulled pork, according to pitmaster Chef Dominique Leach. The restaurant’s signature sauces and rubs are available at Mariano’s, said the business.

For steak lovers, SuSu in West Loop offers a 16-ounce Wagyu coulette or 22-ounce dry-aged ribeye, paired with sides like hindbeh greens with Wagyu bacon, the restaurant confirmed. Chicago favorite Adalina Prime, named one of the Most Beautiful New Restaurants of 2025 by Robb Report, features a Surf & Turf special with a Fire & Ice Tower and Miyazaki Ribeye, as reported by the restaurant.

Chicago Boat Company lets dads rent self-guided boats to view landmarks like the Wrigley Building and Tribune Tower, said the company. Options include Duffy boats, Pontoons, Party Barges, and Retro Boats, with Bluetooth speakers and BYO food and drinks allowed.
