Prime & Provisions is set to reopen in July after a full reconstruction, marking the return of the DineAmic Hospitality steakhouse to Chicago’s dining scene. According to the press release, the restaurant closed late last November after a kitchen fire caused smoke and water damage, prompting ownership to fully rebuild the space.

After celebrating its 10-year anniversary in 2025, the restaurant is preparing for a comeback built around the same polished service and classic steakhouse feel that made it a staple for the past decade. The reopening is being framed as one of the notable Chicago restaurant openings of summer 2026.

What diners can expect

According to the restaurant, guests will again find its in-house dry-aged prime steaks, one of its signature offerings. The menu will also feature the luxurious steakhouse preparations and classic dishes that have helped define the brand since it first opened.

The rebuilt dining room is designed to preserve the scale and sense of occasion diners associate with the restaurant. Its look continues to draw from the grandeur of a 19th-century World’s Fair, while keeping the experience rooted in the same rituals and standards that shaped the original space.

The reopening centers on restoration as much as on return: a familiar Chicago favorite is coming back after damage forced its closure, and the team says the goal is to restore the experience guests have known for years.

With the July opening ahead, Prime & Provisions is positioning itself as a renewed destination for steakhouse dining in Chicago. The restaurant’s comeback reflects both the resilience of the business and the steady demand for its signature steakhouse offerings.
