Roanoke Hospitality is adding two Italian-inspired destinations in Streeterville this month, building on its Chicago dining portfolio with both a new restaurant and a rooftop concept. According to the company’s announcement, La Bella Trattoria on Rush opened Friday, May 15, at 101 E. Erie St., while Altezza Rooftop is set to open Thursday, May 28, at the same address.
The openings mark an expansion of the group’s La Bella Trattoria brand from the Loop into Streeterville. The new restaurant sits at the corner of Rush and Erie and is designed as a 50-seat dining room with a 60-seat outdoor patio, according to the company.

Food, hours and rooftop details
La Bella Trattoria on Rush will serve lunch and dinner daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., along with weekday happy hour and weekend brunch, Roanoke Hospitality said. The menu includes handmade pasta, wood-fired pizza, fresh seafood, antipasti, and desserts, plus cocktails, wine, and zero-proof drinks.
The restaurant’s pizza program centers on a Neo-Neapolitan style made with 24-hour cold-fermented dough and double-zero flour from Le 5 Stagioni in Parma, Italy, according to the release. The pies are baked in an oven set at about 540 degrees Fahrenheit.
Altezza Rooftop will focus on Italian aperitivo culture, with craft cocktails, shareable small plates, and wood-fired pizzas, according to Roanoke Hospitality. The rooftop’s hours are Monday through Thursday from 4-11 p.m., Friday from 3 p.m. to midnight, Saturday from noon to midnight, and Sunday from noon to 10 p.m.

At Altezza, the company said, guests are meant to slow down and take in the city views. Bryan Gerrish, Roanoke Hospitality’s CEO, stated in the announcement, “We’ve designed the Altezza Rooftop experience to bring the warmth of the aperitivo culture to Chicago. We want guests to come up to the rooftop, slow down in our gorgeous space, have a bite to eat, and feel like they have the whole city to themselves for a few hours.”
