A waterfront estate on Geneva Lake has hit the market for nearly $11 million, making it the priciest active listing in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, according to The RealDeal. The 9.2-acre property at W2908 Walcowis Drive includes 160 feet of shoreline and sits on five separate parcels, The RealDeal reported.

The listing is held by Tricia Forbeck of Compass, who did not respond to a request for comment, as reported byCrain's Chicago Business. Public records show the estate has been owned for decades by Janice Van Dyke Zeilstra, who bought it in the 1980s with her late husband, William Van Dyke.
The Victorian-inspired house, built in 1989, has five bedrooms, four full bathrooms and one half bath, along with an open great room with floor-to-ceiling windows, a wet bar, a screened porch and a large deck, according to The RealDeal. Three of the bedrooms include lofts for extra sleeping space.

Luxury market shows signs of slowdown
The RealDeal reported that if the property sells near the asking price, it would be Geneva Lake’s largest residential sale since March, when an 11,000-square-foot lakefront mansion in Fontana sold for $14.3 million in an off-market deal. The Walcowis' Drive home is now the first upper-end property to hit the market in Lake Geneva this summer.
Agents say the luxury market has been quiet, in part because inventory is thin. David Curry of Geneva Lakefront Realty said, “The only reason it looks slow is there is no inventory,” per an interview with The RealDeal.
The area’s next two most expensive listings have lingered for months and taken price cuts, showing a market that is still active but slower than last year’s hot stretch, Curry confirmed, per The RealDeal. According to the report, most waterfront homes in the area are usually sold off-market, making this public MLS listing unusual for Lake Geneva’s high-end market.
